good and strange times

so i've been in this class for the last 3 weeks 17 hrs from my wife and kids and although stressful, not as much as being away from my family. i went to an old friends house last night for a going away party of sorts, he deploys to a Afghanistan next week and we had some drinks and remembered yesteryear way back when he and his wife and myself were serving in italy. i was on my way home from his house early this afternoon and i noticed a church on the side of the road and honestly without thinking pulled into the parking lot, marched right in sat down in the pew and read the entire book of joshua, finished it and walked out and preceded back to my room. so strange....i tried to remember what i read and even tried to summarize it in my head but nothing i could come up with remotely correlated with anything going on my life. i'm not really a religious person to begin with not to say i'm not religious at all, i was brought up a christian and that is what i believe but i don't go to church and i don't pray often although i have had some reasonable conversations with the lord, i mean he has got to be extremely busy and i don't know that anything that is going on in my life condones his guidance unless it's an emergency. there are hundreds of thousands of people out there that need so much more from the lord than i'll ever need so i don't feel as if i need to waste his time with petty business.....just some very odd jimmy jams today
