War thrusts us into a vortex of pain and fleeting ecstasy. It thrusts us into a world where law is of little consequence, human life is cheap, and the gratification of the moment becomes the overriding desire that must be satiated, even at the cost of another's dignity or life. War is the most useful and useless tool known to mankind.

War is the pornography of violence. It has a dark beauty, filled with the monstrous and the grotesque. It allows us to destroy not only things and ideas but human beings. In that moment of wholesale destruction, we wield the power of the divine.....a gift and a curse.
